Xiaomi Mi 9T Officially Launched: Specs, Price & Availability

After releasing a bunch of teasers and promotional materials, finally the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has officially launched the new Mi 9T smartphone with super existing features. As revealed earlier, the Xiaomi Mi 9T series come with in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, pop-up selfie camera, and triple rear-facing cameras.

It’s also worth saying that this new device not only packs latest specifications but also has beautiful and unique design. The back panel of the phone is glossy and the main camera lens is highlighted. Unlike other new smartphones, the Mi 9T series come with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Sadly, during the launch event, the company didn’t release the Mi 9T Pro. The Pro version with Snapdragon 855 SoC may launch later.

The Mi 9T is the Mi 9‘s successor without any notch. Basically, the handset is the global variant of the Redmi K20. It sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with 1080×2340 pixels resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The device is powered by the 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor along with Adreno 618 GPU. There’s 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of inbuilt storage.

In terms of camera, the Mi 9T packs triple rear cameras (48MP main sensor, 8MP telephoto camera, and 13MP ultra-wide sensor). There’s also a 20MP pop-up selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. As usual, there are a number of AI-powered featured like AI Portrait mode and AI Scene detection mode for better the photography experience.

The dual-SIM phone runs on the MIUI 10 based on Android Pie operating system. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. For network & connectivity, it has 4G VoLTE, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and NFC. For security, it supports in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The Mi 9T starts at 329 Euros (INR 26,000) for the 6GB/64GB storage version. The 6GB/128GB storage version costs 369 Euros (INR 29,000). In this price range, the new phone will compete with Honor20, OnePlus 6T, Samsung Galaxy A70, and more.

It will be available from 17th June 2019 in Europe. You can purchase this device in three different colors – Black, Blue and Red.

Should you buy Mi 9T or not? If yes, why?

If you are looking for a new Android smartphone and your budget is around Rs 30,000 then we seriously recommend you to grab the OnePlus 6T because now it’s sold for Rs 27,999 on Amazon India. However, if you want a fully bezel-less phone without any notch then it’s better to wait for Mi 9T which is expected to arrive in India as Redmi K20.
