Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has just launched its first smartphone in China. The new iQOO smartphone packs the Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, 44W Vivo Super FlashCharge and much more. This is a gaming smartphone with high-end specifications. With all such flagship level features and impressive design, this Vivo iQOO will compete with other premium phones like Xiaomi Mi 9, OnePlus 6TOnePlus 6T, Samsung Galaxy S10, Razer Phone 2, etc. The starting price of this gaming smartphone is 2998 Yuan ($450 or Rs 32,000).
Vivo iQOO Smartphone: Specifications & Features
The all-new iQOO smartphone features a 6.41-inch AMOLED display ( FHD+ resolution 2340×1080 pixels) with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a dewdrop notch. The phone’s display has 91.7% screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 640 GPU. It also has a new super liquid cooling technology, AI Turbo, Game Turbo, Net Turbo, and other processor and gaming related features. The phone comes with 6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.
In terms of camera, the Vivo iQOO smartphone packs triple rear-facing cameras including a 13MP primary sensor (Sony IMX363 sensor), a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a 12MP front camera.
The handset runs on the Android 9.0 Pie (Funtouch OS 9). The phone comes with a huge 4000mAh battery. Except the base model with 6GB RAM, all the other variants of iQOO smartphone come with 44W Vivo’s Flash Charge. This fasting charging technology can fully charge the phone’s battery in just 45 minutes.
For security, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and facial recognition system. Moreover, it has 4G VoLTE support, NFC and USB Type-C port.

The base variant of the Vivo iQOO smartphone with 6GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage is priced at 2998 Yuan ($450). The 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants cost 3298 Yuan ($490) and 3598 Yuan ($540) respectively. The most premium model with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM is priced at 4298 Yuan ($649).
The 128GB storage versions of the device will come in Electro-Optic Blue and Lava Orange colors. The versions with 256GB ROM will come in the Electro-Optic hue color.
The pre-sales for the phone have already begun on Vivo’s official website. It will go on sale from 6th March 2019.
