Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Launched in China: Specifications and Price Details

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones in China. Both the phones come with 18:9 aspect ratio displays, AI Face Unlocking and new MediaTek processors. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 comes with a dual camera setup on the back and the Redmi 6A has a single 13MP rear camera. The Redmi 6 starts at just 799 Yuan. Xiaomi Redmi 6

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is the successor of Redmi 5. It features a 5.45-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor. Xiaomi claims that the Helio P22 is faster than Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. The Redmi 6 comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Redmi 6 features 12MP (f/2.2) + 5MP dual rear-facing cameras with AI portrait mode and LED flash. On the front, it has 5MP selfie camera with bokeh mode.

The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery. It has a fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock. For connectivity, it has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The mobile has Hybrid Dual Sim slots (Nano + Nano/microSD) which means there’s no dedicated micro SD card slot. The dimensions of the device are – 147.5mm × 71.5mm × 8.3mm.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Price

The starting point of Xiaomi Redmi 6 is 799 Yuan (Around Rs 8,500) for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is prided at 9999 Yuan (Around Rs 10,500). The phone will go on sale from 15th June 2018 in China.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A

In terms of design, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A looks similar to the Redmi 6. It features a 5.45 inches display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core processor which is clocked at 2.0GHz. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via memory card.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6A packs a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and LED flash. For selfies, the phone has a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and portrait mode.

The phone runs on the Android Oreo and comes with a 3000 mAh battery. The handset supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and FM radio. It also has AI Face Unlocking and AI Voice Assistance.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A Price

The Redmi 6A is priced at 599 Yuan (Around Rs 6000) in China. It will be available in four different colors – Blue, Gold, Rose Gold and Silver. The sale will begin from 12th June in China.
