Moto Z3 with 5G Moto Mod Launched in the US: Specifications, Price, and Availability

Motorola has launched the Moto Z3 smartphone in the US. The company has also introduced the 5G Moto Mod which allows the Moto Z3 to access Verizon’s 5G network. The 5G Moto Mod is sold separately. The new Moto Z3 smartphone will be available in the US through Verizon exclusively from 16 August 2018. The 5G Moto Mod will be available in early 2019.

Moto Z3 Specifications, Features, and Pricing

The Moto Z3 features a 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (2160 x 1080p), 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has a glass rear, 2.5D glass front, aluminum frame, and a splash-resistant p2i body.

The Motorola Moto Z3 runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (2.35GHz octa-core CPU) with 850 MHz Adreno 540 GPU. It had 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable up to 2TB via micro SD card. For security, the device has a fingerprint sensor and face unlock.

The Sensors present in Moto Z3 are Fingerprint reader, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light, proximity sensor, magnetometer or compass, and ultrasonic. For connectivity, it has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

In terms of cameras, the phone has a dual camera setup at the rear that consists of a 12MP (f/2.0 aperture) primary sensor and a 12MP monochrome sensor. This camera has portrait mode, Laser Autofocus system, and a CCT dual LED flash. The rear cameras can record up to 4K Ultra HD (30 fps) videos, time-lapse video, and slow-motion videos. On the front, the handset has an 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, wide angle 84° lens and screen flash.

The Z3 packs a 3000 mAh non-removable battery that comes with TurboPower charging (half a day’s power in half an hour). The 15W TurboPower charger is included in the box. There’s no 3.5mm headphone jack in this phone. You have to use a USB-C to 3.5mm converter which comes along with the phone.

Apart from these features, the new Moto Z3 also comes with a number of Motorola’s special gestures, Moto Display, Moto Voice (beta), and more.

Moto Z3 Price and Availability

The Moto Z3 will be available in Ceramic Black color thought Verizon US. It is priced at $480 (around INR 33,000). In this price range, the device will compete with BlackBerry Evolve X, OnePlus 6, Honor 10, etc. Right now, there are no details regarding the price of 5G Moto Mod.
